Welcome to the Exeter University LGBTQ+ Society online forum. Our society is dedicated to providing a secure space for those who identify as an LGBTQ+ person (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer and questioning, as well as other sexual and gender identities such as asexual, intersex and genderqueer) to fully express their sexual orientation and/or gender identity without fear of intimidation or harassment. We also welcome straight allies, so don’t be afraid to come along to an event, whoever you might happen to be!
Our main goal as a society is to organise social events catered towards (but not exclusively) our LGBTQ+ members; whether it’s visiting Vaults, Exeter’s LGBTQ+ bar, or taking part in LGBTQ-related events going on in the city (such as Pride week), or even activities such as bowling or cinema trips. We are also keen to get involved in campaigning for LGBTQ+ rights, as well as raising awareness of issues regarding sexuality, gender identity and intersectionality on campus. However, this will not be the main focus of the society, and members are not obligated to take part in campaigns (although we would encourage those who do want to take part, to do so).
For more information, our facebook page is www.facebook.com/groups/uoe.pride.soc/?fref=ts
You can use this forum either as a member or a guest, so can be anonymous or not as you wish. Please read the rules before posting, and we hope you find this forum helpful in some way.
Best wishes
